Other Issues in Media & Society

T he Internet is an absolutely diverse space for shared opinions and ideas. Especially now, during the times of ongoing pandemic and translocation of interest from the real world to the virtual reality, I believe each can find the supporting news blog of their interest. The issues and concerns within the media and society increase with days as an increase in the branches of the themes. Therefore, I would like to recommend some of the topics for further research and speculations on. 1. "Big Lion Sports" by Michael. Reference:  https://biglionsportcom.wordpress.com/ Which analyzes the sports area as a separate culture for media attention. The interconnectedness between the mainstream and sport as part of our lives represents to what extent this sphere is present on a daily bases for millions of people. The idea of how subjective the discussion of sports might actually result in interesting speculation within its interaction with the recent situation in the world - COVID-19;...

Addional on Influencers

R ecent (breaking) news      Memorizing the posts addressing the issue at the beginning of the world pandemic COVID-19 and its interaction with the influencers/bloggers, the following theme appeared - divorce. First, it seemed ridiculous to read the online magazines about the increased divorce after forceful isolation at home, with the family, otherwise meaning, staying home 24/7 with your family. Who, in the name of this world, might think that it turned out to be a problem. As appeared, indeed, it is an ongoing issue.       Besides that, the theme also mentioned earlier, is the overload on online platforms of informative content. ANY informative content coming from professionals or the people who are just interested in one or another topic. Therefore, on the Russian platform increased the recorded interviews and themes of these journals' interviews with the Russian celebrities of how to remain in love and "not kill each other" during the qu...

My View

I  consider myself both an active Instagram user and an influencer. Even though, my blog is not a highly visible and visited page, as a person who expresses his opinion and speculates on the serious themes of daily psychology, emotional states, and life essentials, I take certain responsibilities on what, how, and to whom I post. I guess my success in it is the strong psychological background and additional education within this topic - in my priority is people's world. However, I understand that not everybody has the same experience and simply might not be aware of both which information to acquire and which attitude to have towards it and the way certain information should be broadcasted. Besides that, society lives in the modern world of a wide variety of media platforms, and therefore,  is exposed to the broad spectrum of informative sources.      The first priority of the media users is to get the information as fast as possible, but one o...

For Further Research

I n the previous posts, we were discussing the ongoing issues with the influencers and the lack of social responsibility. However, let's focus on the positive side that outweighs the excessive worries regarding this theme. Because still, most influencers in the group or separate try to take the situation with the virus COVID-19 seriously and call on necessary actions the audience. Properly and with the least harm.       The first organization or source for future follow and news is Vogue IT . April issue was decided to be printed completely white, with no photo and captions on the coverage. Such choice represented as the identification of the " ...respect...rebirth, the light after darkness...is the color of the uniforms worn by those who put their own lives on the line to save ours " (Vogue Italia IG, April 7, 2020). This magazine is the world's known platform of online and printed media, news source, which now feels the need to highlight the importance of the si...

What the experts say II

I n the times of pandemic, influencers do not stop the purpose of the blog on any online platform. The need to stay on style, the need to remain on high demand in comparison to the potential competitors, to most bloggers online platform is the material source - their presence is being paid for. The borders of responsibility and adequate content that is being posted for the audience of more than 100k followers might have a significant response. As was mentioned in the article of Telegraph (2020), the protective masks became the new fashion cult and after one post of a public figure wearing the edition of a luxury brand received thousands of people doing the same ( Telegraph , 2020), meanwhile, the times are not easy to live in. More to that, the issue became far more serious: as influencers continued posting pictures with these face masks, medical professionals became limited with their use, because the pharmacies and fabrics are running out of them due to the panicked p...

What the experts say I

The following analyzed article citation:  Benwal, N. (2020, Jan 16). Social media influencers must be 'cautious', says bombay high court.  Free Press Journal,  Retrieved from https://search-proquest-com.unyp.idm.oclc.org/docview/2338872451?accountid=17238 D igging more into the research of influencers on media platforms and their responsibility, let's consider other examples mentioned on the other platforms. One such reporter was Benwal who analyzed the problem from the perspective of the comparison between journalism as the profession and its nuances and influencers such as famous figures known elsewhere but online. The reason to take a look at it through journalism is that people have the right to freedom of speech but besides that "treasure" they also should learn to be responsible for their actions and potential harm to others. The article mentions a crucial point within the investigation of the message delivery, that these public figures know that they have...

Mental Health

R ecently on the internet became popular the discussions of psychology , emotions and feelings, self-acceptance and confessions, open disclosure of inner worries, more to this, on Instagram appeared "specialists" and "professionals" who teach and educate the audience in their blog through a variety of posts and training on demanded themes. Such media platform became overloaded with this information, and it is that significant amount that people are sometimes unable to filter the material, especially the truthful one that indeed makes sense and is taken from reliable and credible sources. The same as it became easier to receive the webinars/seminars or certificates from the educational centers or self-developed educational organizations and become the coach for one's affective rehabilitation or support. Influencers or bloggers are not the ones who passed such themes by and did not raise this subject in their instablogs, independently being lifestyle, fa...

Ongoing Pandemic

T o the whole world, the beginning of the year 2020 became a turning moment - the countries were infected with the new virus COVID-19. One of the further actions of the government were to restrict people's presence at the places of mass gathering, return tourists to their mother-land, and close the borders utmost. Moreover, later people were asked to follow the quarantine and stay home for several weeks, minding their and others' health.      The spread of the virus - the speed, amount of infected people, consequences - was different in the countries, and due to the cultural dissimilarity and mentality, the process of acquisition and acceptance of such necessary isolation varied between human beings. Why? What is the difference if it is a ubiquitous issue?      Psychologically speaking, people have their own habits and way of life that they follow daily and feel comfortable in. And when they are limited with their resources and personally not in...

Are social Influencers responsible for their content?

T he modern world is in the era of freely accessible information on a variety of media platforms. Meanwhile, some of the news broadcasts may be censored or monitored for the content such as lexicon used, the visual support, video, and audio accompaniment, still, some of the informative contents might be transmitted differently. As Instagram became the broad media platform for the expression of opinion, for the show of one's life, one's experience, stories, and advice, it also became the way of interaction of one person or organization with the big audience that sometimes might be 15k followers, 100k, or even 1 million.      Therefore, the issue of social responsibility - and that is the influence, motivation, propaganda, commercial, attitude, call on the action, etc - became a topic to be discussed. As all people are different and more to that they are individuals with their characters, some of them are vulnerable and sensitive to the broadcast...
